The band's name, "Circle Like a Halo was taken from a phrase in the chorus of
"
Buzzards Circle", an unreleased CLAH original song:

Buzzards circle like a halo overhead,
I lay down last night and left myself for dead

Removed from its original context, "Circle Like a Halo" identifies an obvious
comparison with an open-ended multitude of enigmatic interpretations.  This
simple symbolism suggests images, both important and ordinary...ranging from an
elementary geometric fact...to the endless and ever-moving turning of life's wheel.

And in the same way a simple circle is somehow more than mere shape when it
encircles the shining faces of the saints,
Circle Like a Halo seeks to transcend
sound by transforming themselves and their listeners with the music they create
and resonate.
CLAH welcomes you into the circle.
